The Tau of Steves: What You Don’t Know Could Fill a Book

Day 69 of My 1-Year Experiment

Summer August 2019

What’s been going on?  Emma the Baroness and I sat down, updated our expenses from our anniversary trip to Italy ten months ago and projected estimates for our Norway vacation.

Hi and welcome to this first day of August and Episode 69 in the first season of My 1-Year Experiment.

We landed in Venice, trained to Florence and then to Cinque Terre and driving  to the Heart of Tuscany staying in Siena and busing finally to Rome.  We had receipts for transportation, lodging, meals and entertainment expenses.  Of course we had to calculate the exchange rate of euros into dollars.

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

If you travel with anyone else, you soon realize that each person has a mental picture of what it will be like.  Some less clear than others, some not fully formed until the last minute.

“5”  Steve Winwood, 71; Stevie Wonder, 69; Stephen Colbert, 56: “Maybe it’s not your job to get everyone on the same wavelength, but if you miss that part, your job won’t go very smoothly.” Taurus

How do you get everybody on board in time? We projected a map of Italy on our big screen and walked through out itinerary together.

“5”  Steve Greene, 34; Steve Guttenberg, 61: “Assume nothing, and lightly test boundaries the way you might check an electric fence to see if it’s on.” Libra

Emma the Baroness, even more than me, shared the best of Zahn’s Holiday Tau to schedule as much up front and lock down where and when we’d go.  Elle and Jay, especially Jay held out for a more spontaneous, meandering approach.

“4”  Steve Nash, 45: “Rigid perspectives jut out, defining the edges of what’s acceptable.  Over time, they crumble.” Aquarius

We tasked Jay with the rending the car for driving us on the portion of our tour through the heart of Tuscany.

“4”  Steve Carell, 57; Steve Martin, 74; Steve Wozniak, 69: “Resentment takes up energetic space.  New opportunity opens up to you just as soon as you lose your resentment over that old thing that just didn’t happen.” Leo
