S4 E21 — Not Since the War of 1812

Hi and welcome to Thursday’s 21st Episode in Season 4 of  Our Disruptively Resilient Year” on this 7th day of April in the spring of 2022.

The Tau of Steves: What You Don’t Know Could Fill a Book

Table of Contents

We concluded the three-year examination of how bits of wisdom changed — during the “normal” pre-pandemic year compared to the pandemic year, and more recently to the paradoxically normal year.

Season Four continues now within domestic and global chaos.

Context

The incredible shrinking principled conservative base.  How did it happen?

“Political critics now say,” according to Jamie Raskin, “that the Democratic Party, whatever its faults, is the party of democracy and that the Republican Party is the party of Trump, authoritarianism, corruption, and insurrection.”

Most politicians thought Trump was just:

      • playacting,
      • blocking out negative information,
      • giving everything a positive spin
      • raising money on paranoia and
      • playing the polarizing carnival barker

But, then there’s his egging on violence from

      • The Proud Boys,
      • the Three Percenters,
      • the Oath Keepers,
      • the Aryan Nations,
      • QAnon followers,
      • Christian White Nationalists and
      • Militia forces

Referring to the insurrection on January 6th when Confederate flag wavers broke in, Raskin said the United States had not seen and assault on the Capitol like that since the War of 1812.

But, because Trump displayed his four years of continuous norm destruction and daily shredding of the Constitution out in the open for all to see, it shouldn’t surprise us that he conspired to stay in office.

Or that our democracy would be exposed to not only the whims of a dictator wannabe in the Oval office, but he and his cronies would buddy up to other autocrats and demagogues — can you spell P.U.T.I.N ?

A threat to constitution exposed to violent authoritarianism and fascism.

Bob Woodward and Robert Costa reported in their book “Peril,” that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Milley, thought that, ”Trump’s manifest behavioral instability and desperateness … “ could represent a very real threat to the nation and a possibility of an impetuous and undeclared war in his final days.

Milley took action with a call to “his Chinese counterpart to assure him that the U.S. had no plans to attack China.”

He made it clear that, “Any authorization for a nuclear launch would have to flow through him.”

Raskin says he and the House Manages “had the chance to convict and repudiate Donald Trump for his high crimes against constitutional democracy and then to disqualify him from ever holding office in the United States again.”

During the trial, we had been focused on just one man and one crime, but America needs to understand the whole architecture of the January 6 attack:

      • Who organized it and paid for
      • Who coordinated the inside political strategy with the violent elements running amok outside,
      • What we need to do to stop the next assault, or at least prepare ourselves for it.

It would effectively have purged Trumpism from the American body politic. This we failed to do.

Woodward and Costa disclose that Milley believed January 6 was a planned, coordinated, synchronized attack on the very heart of American democracy, designed to overthrow the government to prevent the constitutional certification of a legitimate election won by Joe Biden.

Trump might still be looking for what Milley called a “Reichstag moment.” In 1933, Adolf Hitler had cemented absolute power for himself and the Nazi Party amid street terror and the burning of the Reichstag parliamentary building.

Nazis were willing to come out in the open.

Behaving like an autocrat Trump was systemically attacking the courts, the press, and Congress—a vintage move by an autocrat to dismantle institutions constricting his power.

“The neo-Nazis, Klansmen, and white supremacists emerging from dark rooms and remote fields and the anonymity of the web into the bright light of day.”

Evidence

Today’s Holiday Theme:

Emotions are information. There are no bad emotions, just inaccurate interpretations of them, unhelpful reactions to them or questionable reasons they are triggered in the first place. (Celebrate) our emotions as neutral tools with potential for constructive use.

“5”  Steve Zahn, 51: “When you are fully engaged in what you’re doing, it’s like you are one with the sea of life. You move and the world naturally adjusts and reacts, making way for you.” Scorpio

OK, I like how this one started out in the sea.  The second sentence is the one I hope for, but remains to seen, eh?

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

“5”  Steve Aoki, 41; Steven Spielberg, 74: “These conditions, for better or worse, do not define you. In a moment of detachment, you will notice your circumstances differently. They’ll feel somehow smaller.” Sagittarius

Well if the better or worse conditions don’t define me, I still hoping for the last sentence.  Or as Emma the Baroness recently said, and I’m paraphrasing, “I can’t wait for the day when I can get Trumps name out of my brain.”

“4”  Steve Carell, 57; Steve Martin, 74; Steve Wozniak, 69: “If the reward rained down from the heavens, everyone would go outside with open hands. But the rewards come in increments and from the ground up. They belong to those who get their hands dirty.” Leo

Or in rain buckets and tubs.  But aren’t these Holiday Taus supposed originate in the heavens?  Haha.  But I get your meaning, dirty hands keep us grounded.

“3”  Steve Harvey, 62; Stephan Patis, 53;  Stephen Hawking (1943 – 2018): “Those who aim to impress will do the opposite because working for approval is off-putting. The truly impressive don’t need the feedback. They are too busy doing what pleases, upholding a standard or living a principle.” Capricorn

Will somebody clip this one and send it to the twice impeached former president?

Long-Form

    • “Here, Right Matters: An American Story” by Alexander Vindman. “We’d long been confused by the president’s policy of accommodation and appeasement of Russia, the United States’ most pressing major adversary. Russia’s president Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, seizing the Crimean Peninsula, attacking its industrial heartland, the Donbass, from the capital, Kyiv. By 2019, little had changed, Russian military and security forces and their proxy separatists continued to occupy the Donbass. The biggest change was to Ukraine’s importance as a bulwark against Russian aggression weeks earlier, the White House had abruptly put a hold on nearly four hundred million dollars.”
    • David Enrich begins his book with a suicide in “Deutsche Bank Dark Towers: Deutsche Bank, Donald Trump, and an Epic Trail of Destruction” and then meticulously details the bank’s Russian money laundering operations. Deutsche’s Russian business surged after revenues had fallen 50% due to the 2008 financial crisis. Putin’s Russia, poured in to Deutsche from deals it did with VTB Bank, linked to the Kremlin’s intelligence apparatus. Deutsche positioned itself as a crucial cog in “The Laundromat” by doing what couldn’t be done — processing cross-border transactions for banks that were too small  and didn’t have offices outside their home countries.
    • “Unthinkable: Trauma, Truth, and the Trials of American Democracy” by Jamie Raskin recalls one tragedy no parent should endure — the suicide of his son — and then a second tragedy at almost the same time — the insurrection on January 6th 2021, that terrified he and his congressional peers who were tasked by the Constitution to routinely oversee the orderly transfer of power from one former president to the duly elected new President.
    • “A Warning” by Anonymous (Miles Taylor) written prior to the January 6th Insurrection as an insider’s account documenting how frequently the former President’s behavior and rage without any “guard rails” showed just how far he would go to win the next election at any cost while spinning lies and misinformation on top of each other.
    • “Peril” by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa provides anecdotes, stories and inside reporting documenting the controversial last days of Donald Trump’s presidency, as well as the presidential transition and early presidency of Joe Biden.

S3 E29 — Why 83.3% of the Time I Swiped Your Tau

Jealousy raised its little green head when it came to selecting each day’s Holiday Tau over the course of one year.  At first I didn’t know what I was in for.

The Tau of Steves: What You Don’t Know Could Fill a Book

“5”  Steve Zahn, 51: “Of course, you want to focus on what’s important, but today brings some confusion as to what fits the category. Hint: It’s small, emotional in nature and couldn’t happen on any other day.” Scorpio

Hi and welcome to Friday’s Episode 29 in Season 3 of  My Paradoxically Normal Year” on this 16th day of April in the spring of 2021 — which is a three-year examination of how bits of wisdom changed during the “normal” pre-pandemic year and then in the pandemic year, and now months after.

Context

I hadn’t considered the numbers, the odds.

Robotically I turned to the “Comics” page in the print edition.  Yes, down at the bottom right hand corner you’d view six comics next to the “CrossWord” on its left side and under “Ask Amy” whose headline for the day is a provocative “Wedding cost her friends.”

Across the top you’ll also find Sudoku, Bridge and Kenken and wedged in the middle left column you’ll see “Horoscope” with a warning —“The horoscope should be read for entertainment.”

Nothing about jealousy. If I gambled I’d realize statistically given 12 possible TauBits of Wisdom my Holiday Tau would either suck or pale in comparison to the 11 others.

Which is a long way of saying I was in it for finding and collecting wise sayings I could put to use right away, or at least in the near future.

Here’s a sample from the Findings section of the 1-year report which illustrates how I stole from all the others, changed the categories and color coded them over time to Practical Projects, Work (Volume Two Manuscript), Legacy (Volume Three Manuscript) and Inner Dreams and Intimacies —  and finally grouped them by type of advice.

Scorpios = my legitimate Holiday Tau

Key to the initial categories abandoned during the first 60 days:

W = Wisdom

Y = the best over a year

S = silly

N = support for Steve as a name

Future by Design

N — “Once upon a time, you made up your mind about who you wanted to be, and now embody that vision.  Once again, you’ll imagine a new version.  You’ll attract the people who can help you willfully create the circumstances to help you evolve.  Love yourself as you are.  It’s your last chance before the leap.”

Lifestyle Biz Art Form

Y —“The way to live your life and/or run your business is as much a work of art as anything you produce.  As you express yourself and follow your muse, you show people a path they hadn’t thought of.  Your novel leadership will open the door to the sort of experiences you dreamed about having when you were small.”

Filters and Opinions

W — “To see the world how it is, lift the lenses you’re looking through and take off the filters and rules you’ve superimposed.”

“People are open to opinions they agree with.  You have a lot of respect for one who entertains other points of view.  Real communication resolves conflicts.”

W, Y— Scorpios: “People can experience similar circumstances very differently.  You’ll live this today.”

Friendships and Relationships

S W — “You will go out of your way, waste your time and break your budget in the name of friendship.  This is how you know you’re doing it right.  For your love and generosity, you’ll be meaningfully rewarded beyond your wildest imaginings.”

W, Y— Scorpios: “You know intellectually that you’re connected to the people who live so far away, though you don’t always feel that connection as powerfully as you will today.”

Coaching and Advising

“You’ll inspire, coach and facilitate big successes for the ones you care about.  In doing so, you’ll fulfill your own destiny and profit in all the ways that matter to you.  Your connection with family deepens through shared work.”

Searching

Y —“You’re like a U2 song because you’ve quested for years, searched high and low, yet still haven’t found what you’re looking for.  That’s good news.  If you were settled, then you wouldn’t go on the incredible adventures in store for this year, one of which begins in another person’s loving eyes.”

Luck and Resourcefulness

Y —“Dumb luck brings brilliant outcomes.  You’ve a tendency to gravitate toward the action and then pay attention to your environment, making the most of the things you just happen to stumble upon.  You’ll get a top buyer for your work, property or ideas.”

Clarity and Action

W — “Mental fog lifts; you see your situation vividly, know the next move, and there’s nothing stopping you.  Is it the right goal?  Don’t worry about that.  As long as you are moving, you’ll find your way to the right goal.”

Mastery and Development

Y —“This is no time to back down.  You’re well on your way to becoming a master.  Your ability develops with every assignment you take on, so seek the teachers and situations that will throw a lot at you.  The time to invest in loved ones will be the source of your strength, pride and best moments.”

See? Out of twelve I selected only two intended for me. What’s that …  a measly 16.7%. I’m glad I didn’t settle!

Evidence

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

Oh, every once in a while I’d feel jealous that I wasn’t born on a great day.  So, yeah I’d swipe this one. Passion diving is fun and I have a body of knowledge that eludes me.  Two subjects.  I wonder what they will be?

Today’s Holiday Birthday:

Floating on a strong current of love and support, you’re able to dive into your passions. A lifelong learner, you’ve amassed an impressive body of knowledge. Yet, in many ways, you’ve barely scratched the surface. This year enlightens you further on two subjects dear to your heart and applicable to daily life.

Hey Smithy and Stevie, would it be okay if instead of capturing these ideas on post-its I accomplish the same thing by computer and iPhone?

“5”  Steve Smith, 30, Stevie Nicks, 72: “Treasures at the back of your mind now need to come forward. Get the ideas on paper. The phrases keep you pointed in a particular direction. Put them where you look often — in your wallet, on your bathroom mirror, in your phone.” Gemini

Is your Holiday Tau saying forget getting caught up in politics?  But, maybe capitalize on the ongoing feuds?  If so, count me in!

“5”  Steve Carell, 57; Steve Martin, 74; Steve Wozniak, 69: “Let the world argue endlessly about the sorry state of things. You know the truth: It is what you make of it. Your intense focus on the positive can turn almost anything into your ideal scenario.” Leo

Hey, Steve am I right in interpreting your TauBit of Wisdom as a companion message to your co-founder and the two comedians?

“4”  Steve Jobs, (1955 – 2011): “You get out of relationships what you put into them. You make the effort, and the others meet you halfway, though maybe not immediately. It’s OK because you’re willing to take more initiative in the early stages.” Pisces

S2 E50 — 5 Fundamental Uncertainties

How will our world unfold on the other side of this pandemic?  Back to normal? Or something entirely different?

Season 1 and 2 are a two-year examination of how bits of wisdom changed during the “normal” pre-pandemic and then in this unfolding pandemic year.

Context

More from the introduction to “The world remade by COVID-19 Scenarios for resilient leaders | 3-5 years.”

As the COVID-19 pandemic began to sweep across the globe, some of the world’s best-known scenario thinkers came together to explore different ways the unfolding crisis might play out—and what its effects could be on businesses and societies around the world.

Yesterday I listed the context within the pandemic future may be shaped in the near and long-term with Deloitte and Salesforce’s list of 19 uncertainties.

One of their basic questions they ask, and we all are probably asking now is, what will change based on what’s happening now before our eyes?

Under a heading I feel is so descriptive, “A World Remade” they build the case for how this pandemic is a global crisis which is unlike any other we can remember.

If you go anywhere outside of your pod you know frontline workers, health care workers and researchers have been taking measures to slow the spread.

But, now they say more than a billion people around the globe can no longer lead a “normal” life.

Can we say with any certainty how the virus will infect and spread and what as a consequence the pandemic will leave as a mark on societies?

Nope.

Somewhat reassuring, the authors and collaborators believe the pandemic will end.  But, will life return to “normal” and if not, then what?

Their purpose for their report is to:

    • Explore how trends we see during the pandemic could shape what the world may look like in the long term
    • Have productive conversations around the lasting implications and impacts of the crisis
    • Identify decisions and actions that will improve resilience to the rapidly changing landscape
    • Move beyond “recovering” from the crisis and toward “thriving” in the long run

Now, then are the top 5 “fundamental uncertainties” they explore.

    1. Just how severe is the pandemic and how will it spread?
    2. Will countries collaborate with each other?
    3. Is the health care system up to the challenge?
    4. What are the economic consequences of the crisis?
    5. Are we in this together or will the crisis response divide us further?

Evidence

Wow, how do you start getting your head wrapped around the challenge?  It seems daunting, to say the least!

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

“4”  Steve Howey, 42:Certain ideas stir up uncomfortable feelings of insecurity — an efficient phenomenon you can get excited about, because it brings you to the precise thing you can work on to get strong.” Cancer

Nobody enjoys facing such a high degree of uncertainty, doubt and fear about their future.  At least trying to find your bearings within the context of Deloitte and Salesforce’ work may help in your navigation.

“4”Steve Kerr, 54:There are things about yourself you cannot change, and things you can absolutely change. Knowing the difference is a key to happiness. You’ll be inclined to work on yourself. The best work you can do is around acceptance.” Libra

Yup, there’s shock, and bargaining.  There’s anger and resentment.  There’s resistance, but then there’s adaption and accommodation.  Resilience eventually leads to thriving instead of barely surviving if you learn to anticipate.

“4”  Steve Aoki, 41: People don’t have to agree with you in order to be your friend. You have plenty of friends you don’t agree with. The manner in which you disagree — with respect, tact and diplomacy — is an agent of trust and bonding.” Sagittarius

And, I noticed in yesterday’s list of 19 critical uncertainties that trust showed up in two categories — “Levels of societal trust” and “Levels of trust in political systems” — are they so intertwined that trust will weigh heavily on the shape of the “new normal” in a post-pandemic world?

“3”  Steve Jobs, (1955 – 2011): You’re not trying to be competitive or show anyone up. But as you follow your heart, you gain insights, skills and other qualities that make the people around you want to up their game.” Pisces

So let’s hope so, so degrees of trust — and truthiness — increase as we all up our games.

Context

On April, 6 in 2020, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Salesforce listed 19 uncertainties from Society, Technology, Economy, Environment and Politics likely to influence how our world could unfold after the pandemic crisis.

Sometimes, just listing unsettling threats and uncertainties helps.

The details are contained in their collaboration in, “The world remade by COVID-19 Scenarios for resilient leaders | 3-5 years.”

    • The focus on leadership signifies the report’s audience is for business, industry and government entities.
    • How those organizations react largely influence how conditions for good or bad will shift that impact on us,  directly or indirectly,  as employees, consultants, freelancers, customers and citizens.

For your consideration listed by the collaborators by society, technology, economy, environment and politics.

Society

    • Levels of societal trust
    • Psychological impacts after quarantine
    • Impacts on different generations
    • Long-term impacts on education

Technology

    • Attitudes toward data-sharing
    • Speed of technological innovation
    • Long-term effects on the workplace
    • Types of new technology adopted

 Economy

    • Speed of economic recovery
    • Distribution of economic growth
    • Impacts on inequality
    • Shifts to new business models

Environment

    • Focus on fighting climate change
    • Reduction of emissions
    • Investments in renewable energy

Politics

    • Long-term impacts on governments
    • Impacts on public policy and regulation
    • Levels of trust in political systems
    • Changes in election methodologies

Will all these influences pressure leaders to the same degree?  Probably not.

And some will ebb and flow over the three to five year time frame.

You never know when opportunities emerge, but if you don’t anticipate and act when the window opens you may be left behind.

Evidence

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

Today’s Holiday Birthday:

“Your kindness radiates in all directions including toward yourself, and this fortifies and emboldens you to new heights of originality. You’ll fascinate, draw a crowd, sell to it and fund an enterprise you wholeheartedly believe in. How satisfying to know you’re making the kind of difference the world really needs now.

Is it too late to petition my mom for a new birthday, or do I just have to steal this one?

“5”  Steve Winwood, 71; Stevie Wonder, 69; Stephen Colbert, 56: If you wait until you are stirred to do a thing, it will be too late. To take advantage of a brief window of opportunity, you’ll have to move before you are ready and act before you are sure.”  Taurus

Granted it’s very difficult to navigate waves of change when you’ve lost your bearings.  But, there’s no time like the present to take some educated guesses how rippling-effects may game out.

“5”  Steve Smith, 30: Accept your fixed traits, and learn to highlight them, or work around them as needed. Every personality trait has within it the potential to be a worst or best quality and will be both, depending on when you look.” Gemini

Not only do your overused strengths turn into weaknesses, but if you know your Myer-Briggs Temperament I can identify the best and worst type of organization for you to choose and at what stage of their growth or decline.

“4”  Steve Howey, 42:Sometimes you doubt the malleability of identity. But when you think about how different you were 10 years ago, it’s clear that change is inevitable and never stops. Believe in your aspirations.” Cancer

And, consider how the ripple-effect of the Great Recession effected your employability. What have you learned since then?

“4”  Steve Harvey, 62:You can’t become who you want to be by doing the same activities you were doing. You’ll change it up and be pleasantly surprised by what you learn about yourself.” Capricorn

Exactly my point to Mr. Howey.

“3”  Steve Jobs, (1955 – 2011): It’s all falling into place for you. The elements are settling before you, all within your reach. Later you’ll be able to jostle things around and make them fit a little better. For now, let it happen.” Pisces

Are they, or is it really just too early to tell?

Context

Miles Taylor, author of “A Warning” by (Anonymous ) witnessed the devolution in the Trump administration.  Mostly driven from the top by the Trumpster.

He says he doesn’t need to read to make informed decisions because he acts “with very little knowledge other than the knowledge I [already have]”.

Taylor found himself astonished at the president’s sheer level of intellectual laziness.

And he wasn’t alone.

Intelligence is one of those qualities that, if you insist you have it, you probably don’t — which is a polite way of putting it.

Behind closed doors his own top officials deride him as an “idiot” and a “moron” with the understanding of a “fifth or sixth grader.” People normally tack a string of expletives onto the front and back ends of their assessments.

Taylor’s title — A Warning — adds fuel to the fire raging in us, citizens feeling our constitutional democracy will come to an end if Trump is re-elected in 2024, or maybe worse, if he isn’t, given his behavior so well documented.

One core question we voters have to take seriously is he willing and able to change? Consider Taylor’s observations:

      • He has a juvenile view of complex subjects
      • Normal people who spend any time with him feel uncomfortable
      • He stumbles, slurs, gets confused, is easily irritated, and has trouble synthesizing information … with regularity and
      • He can’t remember what he’s said or been told.

In short Trump flunks Cicero’s “fake news” test — “it is dishonorable to stumble ignorantly when it comes to the facts and to be deceived.”

But the beat goes on starting before he was elected.

He was a regular booster of Alex Jones.  Trump was also one of the most visible adherents of “birtherism,”

Was there a conspiracy theory he didn’t spread? Trump said:

      • Senator Ted Cruz’s dad was involved in the Kennedy assassination,
      • Justice Antonin Scalia may have been murdered, and
      • Vaccines cause autism.

The point is, Trump “doesn’t care if the person spewing them is a fraud, as long as their words serve whatever purpose Trump has.”

Taylor says he goes to bed with Lou Dobbs. a once-respected Fox host, whose late-night show is now riddled with conspiracy theories.

He falls asleep with Dobbs’ ideas floating in his head and regularly brings them to the Oval Office demanding they be implemented the way Lou said they should be.

He’s comfortable being a huckster of half-truths. He spends a lot of time talking to staff about perceived injustices. He will send White House aides on an endless quest to “fix it.”

Begrudgingly you may have to acknowledge his genius — an evil genius — for giving nicknames to his targets as a tactic allowing the president to turn attacks into instant memes. “He road tests the insulting monikers with friends.”

There are no two ways about it. Trump is a bully, explains Taylor.

Trump’s past is rife with allegations of stiffed contractors, unpaid employees, broken agreements, involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the span of three decades, included claims by individuals who said he and his companies failed to pay them.

Hardly a day goes by without revealing evidence that Trump is “… a vindictive and self-promoting person, one who spends inordinate time attacking others to advance his interests.”

The president’s modus operandi emphasizes combat over peacemaking, bullying over negotiating, malice over clemency, and recognition over true generosity. His philanthropic history is full of empty words and questionable practices.

Take the Trump Foundation which fits into the shady side of evil genius.

Rather than fund it himself, he solicited outside donors. Why?  It allowed him to write checks with his name on them without diminishing his own wealth.

But, the state investigation in New York accused it of “a shocking pattern of illegality,” little more than a checkbook to serve Trump’s business and political interests.

Exhibit A?

He used $10,000 in money from his charity to buy a six-foot oil portrait of himself. So much for the spirit of giving.

What happens when you compare Trump to Cicero’s standards?

A courageous person includes resistance to the mob mentality, avoidance of obsession with money and pleasure, and stability through crises.

Our tweeter in chief survives on a diet of “likes” and “retweets” craving  high approval ratings which Taylor points out is ironic, because he does so little to deserve them.

Polls and polling to him are demonstrations of loyalty, not scientific measures of the country’s mood. When faced with tough challenges, he becomes unglued and bombastic.

Trump is not brave, nor unswayed by the crowd, nor uncommanded by money and pleasure, nor stable through crises.

“Trump fuels rather than avoids mob behavior,” and that should give everyone pause.

Evidence

“4”  Steve Zahn, 51: “Taste is simply a matter of knowing what you genuinely like and why. Forget about what’s popular, what will sell or any other social concern and get deeply in touch with your own preferences.” Scorpio

I see how this goes.  A constant reminder for that one side of me that ignores which stories I curate because some fictional audience member might not like it, to keep it up.  And there’s that rationalization for not gaining follower and viewer analytics that my Myers Briggs Temperament Indicator profile, INTP, accounts for less than 5% of all types which extrapolates to disappointing 95% of people who stumble upon my work.

Or, holding up as my hero Leonardo da Vinci for finishing far fewer of his promised projects to his patrons, because he caved in to his infinite curiosity as documented in his sketches and notes.

Or, Aldwyth as my heroine, who personifies living life as an artist and actually works and lives in her studio.  I want to capture some of the commentary about her for a companion to Joseph Chilton Pearce’s explanation with her concrete examples.  Art for art sake and her finished, and multi-year projects yet unfinished work that totally engages her.

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

“4”  Steve Greene, 34; Steve Guttenberg, 61; Stephen King, 72: “You’ll get the chance to show what you’ve been up to and get some constructive feedback. If others seem surprised by your work, it’s just because you’ve been doing it so quietly. They had no idea what to expect from you.” Virgo

Really?  When?  How should I position what I’ve been up to?  The fourth season of a natural experiment?

“4”  Steve Aoki, 41; Steven Spielberg, 74: “One way you can tell a true friend: If it’s important to you, it’s important to your friend. If you feel free to share on subjects in which your friend has no other interest except that it matters to you, you’ve found a keeper.” Sagittarius

Don’t you think that this harder or becoming more difficult, because people who used to feel the same way as you and who would just rift with you in a jazz kind of way may have suddenly lost their senses when it came to polarizing politics?

“3”  Steve Harvey, 62; Stephan Patis, 53;  Stephen Hawking (1943 – 2018): “It doesn’t matter how fast you go as long as it’s the right direction, which is to say, forward. Sometimes forward looks like falling down. It always involves getting up again. Things don’t have to be smooth to be right.” Capricorn

Sure, forward moving is how you want to fall instead of springing back.

“4”  Steve Nash, 45: “You’ve a unique perspective but you don’t realize what it is yet. You can’t find out by asking others. Go inside yourself and direct your questions to your own heart.” Aquarius

Are you certain?  Haven’t I spent way too much time going inside of myself?

“5” Steve Jobs, (1955 – 2011): “Don’t leave a situation before the agreed upon ending. It takes patience to hang in for the last bits because your mind will be racing ahead to the next thing, but just hang in there.” Pisces

One of the hallmarks of INTPs and most introverts is patience — or maybe better stated as processing time.  Our brains aren’t wired like extroverts.  We need quiet time to recharge our batteries.  But, yes just like Leo da V I feel my mind racing ahead before I keep the agreement with myself.

Today’s Holiday Theme:

Many cosmologists believe that over 13 billion years ago, the entire universe was condensed into a space smaller than a dust speck. How we’ve grown … an emotion, an appetite and a point of ignition … Something as small as an idea will set off an expansive chain of events.
