S1 E121 — When Should You Work Backwards and When Should You Shop?

The Tau of Steves: What You Don’t Know Could Fill a Book

For over 4 hours I immersed myself into what I needed to do get up to speed for promoting my 5-book series on my 6 websites using Woo Commerce with an eye towards crowdfunding on Patreon and taking advantage of Apple Books marketing and sales tools.

Day Fifteen of Scorpio Time

“5”  Steve Zahn, 51: “While it’s efficient to think about the result first and then work backward, take your time shopping around and mentally trying things on.” Scorpio

Hi and welcome to Thursday’s Episode 121 in the first season of ” My 1-Year Natural Experiment” on this 21st day of November in the fall of 2019

Evidence

Everything about advertising, self-promotion and social media marketing overwhelms me, so today I just focused on the first book, “On Your Own Terms: Pack More Meaning and Passion into Your Life,” in my “The Knowledge Path: Live. Love. Work. Play. Invest. And Leave a Legacy” five-book series.

Yay, maybe the Holiday Tau for giving me permission to try out the opposite approach from Marshall McLuhan’s and Amazon’s Innovation process — start with the end result and work backwards to the beginning and push the button (in Amazon’s case).

“5”  Steve Zahn, 51: “While it’s efficient to think about the result first and then work backward, take your time shopping around and mentally trying things on.” Scorpio

Yay twice!! Wow, I can’t wait for 2020 and all the wonderful gifts coming our way — for Zahn, Henry Winkler, Emma the Baroness and me

Today’s Holiday Birthday:

“The richness of 2020 is spiritual as you find a route to your most expanded and generous self.  Travel will open your mind and your realm of influence, too, starting with your own willpower.  Loved ones will lean on you, and you’ll love how this shapes some of your proudest moments.”

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

How can I celebrate my one true Holiday Tau — Steve Zahn’s, but consider Smith’s as well?  Taken together is the message start a little messy, but finish strong?

“3”  Steve Smith, 30: Whatever the task, finishing well will be more important than starting well, and few will remember the middle.” Gemini

Ok.  Nothing against you Steve, but I don’t see the wisdom in your Holiday Tau that I can use today.

“2”  Steve Howey, 42:On the scale of life, comfort is balanced against glory.  The more comfort one has, the less glory is possible and vice versa.” Cancer

Pardon my skeptical mind, but wasn’t this what the current President was supposed to be about when now it’s revealed he only wants people who are loyal to him?  However, Woz’s co-founder echoed his Holiday Tau by asking rhetorically why you’d hire smart people and tell them what to do?

“4”  Steve Carell, 57; Steve Martin, 74; Steve Wozniak, 69: The best leaders assemble teams of challengers and informers instead of yes men.  Surround yourself with smart contenders.” Leo

Haha.  Happens all the time for me.  Knowing I’m right that is, when my hunches pay off from seeing patterns emerging among people, places, ideas, trends and innovation.

“5”  Steve Harvey, 62:When your unspoken hunch aligns with the reality of events, you can’t help but feel smug satisfaction that comes with knowing you were right.” Capricorn

I disagree throwing my weight behind what the founder of Century 21, Marsh Fisher, when we worked together to launch and sustain his software package IdeaFisher off the ground.  He told me we were big picture people who best left execution details to those better suited for it.

“5”  Steve Nash, 45:To be excellent at small things takes the same amount of effort as being excellent at big things.  Aquarius
