S1 E108 — After So Many Defeats is it Time to Catch a New Trajectory?

Well, this is just plain embarrassing for Friday, “Day Two of Scorpio Time.”  The Holiday Tau I so looked forward to turned out to be so pitiful I didn’t even force myself to include it.  Sorry Steve Zahn, Henry Winkler and Emma the Baroness, but there just isn’t anything worthwhile for us.

Hi and welcome to Friday’s Episode 108 in the first season of ” My 1-Year Natural Experiment” on this 25th day of October in the fall of 2019.

Here’s how I spent my time today.

    • Imagine you’re able to place Post-its on a huge white board which visually sketches historical eras, decades and years across it horizontally.
    • And further imagine you summarize challenges that stumped you and defeated you or somehow they may have slowed you down, forced you out of your planned trajectory, but you emerged victorious.
    • Only to advance to the next stage of your life and face your next hurtle.
    • Using TauBits of Wisdom and my Inspiration software I spent most of the day digitally posting lessons I’d forgotten, until these newer TauBits stimulated my memory.

I guess, more than anything else so far, this 1-year natural experiment has unconsciously become a wisdom memory trigger for passing on a legacy worth leaving.

Random ones that make me want change my sign.

Now why couldn’t McQueen’s Holiday Tau have been for Zahn et.al. on this second day?

“5”  Steve McQueen (1930 – 1980): Your competition is not other people or your last accomplishment but this idea about what you might be capable of.  You can’t shake it.” Aries

Hard-won?  Listen, WW&C, your Holiday Tau is the story of my professional life, and maybe is shared among idea-packagers aka INTPs in the Myers Briggs scheme of Temperaments.

“5”  Steve Winwood, 71; Stevie Wonder, 69; Stephen Colbert, 56: You’ll be excellent at the task at hand; you’ve had plenty of practice messing it up.  You’ll be revered for your expertise.  They don’t know how hard-won it really is.” Taurus

Sure, but if you’re pace is slow and steady because what you’ve tackled is huge and complicated you run the risk of OTBE — overtaken by events, which if I honest might be the case for my nearly self-published first book in The Knowledge Path Series.

“5”  Steve Smith, 30: Theoretically, anything that happens fast can be undone just as fast.  The converse is also true. If you’re still not sure which way will be better, then go slow until you know.” Gemini

Oh, fine now you tell me.  Leave it to two comedians and a company founder to be so brutally honest about my legacy sketched over time on my Inspiration whiteboard.

“5”  Steve Carell, 57; Steve Martin, 74; Steve Wozniak, 69: Maybe the lesson gets repeated until it’s learned.  Sometimes learning isn’t an answer but a directive to go in a different direction.” Leo

Seriously, this is the kind of TauBit of Wisdom I had expected for us on the second day of our time to shine.  But, no it had to favor coach Kerr and others like him.  Don’t look, but I’m swiping it.

“5”  Steve Kerr, 54:Today, clarity of mind comes first.  You’ll make a decision, act on it, and life gets suddenly clean and orderly.” Libra

Finally Aoki’s Holiday Tau pales in comparison with the other Steves.

“3”  Steve Aoki, 41: It’s easier to protect your vulnerabilities than to change the whole world.” Sagittarius

I want to dismiss Harvey’s and Nash’s because the Holiday Tau for eight Steve’s is just too much or calls into question my selection bias or confirmation bias or disappointment bias. But, I feel you Harvey and yours resonates with what I believe.

“5”  Steve Harvey, 62:With more truth comes more intelligence; with more intelligence comes greater flexibility of thought.”Capricorn

Sorry, Steve I have to draw the line somewhere.

“3”  Steve Nash, 45:You’re so modest, sometimes you have to be talked into accepting and appreciating yourself.  How about loving yourself so that you can give more love to others?” Aquarius
